Ali Sharif Zu'bi Advocates & Legal Consultants is a popular choice for projects, and regularly acts on the country’s largest infrastructure deals. A major highlight was advising the lenders on the financing of the 52.5MW Shams Ma’an solar power plant. Managing partner Khaled Asfour and Jumana Toukan have strong reputations in this space.

International Business Legal Associates (IBLAW) regularly acts for developers and sponsors on major energy, power, transportation and water infrastructure projects. The group’s expertise extends to associated regulatory issues, risk assessment advice, and construction and leasing. Founding partner Salaheddin Al-Bashir is experienced on this front.

Rajai Dajani at Rajai K.W. Dajani & Associates has a track record advising on social and energy infrastructure projects. Highlights included advising the Jordanian Electricity Power Company on a collaboration with a major telecoms operator to install fibre optic internet cables on its electricity poles. The firm also advised a Jordanian company on its $21m joint venture for the development of a 21MW solar power project.

Safwan Moubaydeen Law Firm in association with Dentons provides ‘effective legal advice and guidance’. Senior associate Lara Saraireh is singled out for ‘playing an effective role in advising on transactions and projects relating to energy and infrastructure’. A recent highlight was advising Gama Power Systems Engineering and Contracting on the development of the $1.1bn Disi water project.

Sanad Law Group in Association with Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP’s active projects group is led by US- and Jordan-qualified Iyad Zawaideh. The team was involved in the development of ten local solar power projects and two wind projects ranging between 10MW and 84MW. It also assisted Elecnor with a joint venture agreement for the construction and operation of a wind turbine system.

The three name partners at Barghouti Bashir Khirfan Advocates are ‘passionate about what they do’ and provide ‘good value’ advice on major infrastructure projects. Notable highlights include advising the developer, Jamal Abdul Nasser & Partners, on the development and construction of the specialised Abdoun Hospital.
