What has been your greatest achievement, in a professional and personal capability?
As the leader of the firm’s litigation practice, I have been honoured to work with a team that has successfully resolved many cases, including high value disputes which have had a positive impact for our clients, industries and state enterprises. We have also represented private and public sector clients on precedent-setting cases in many areas of law.
What do you do differently from your peers in the industry?
I provide strategic advice based on the client’s interests and business goals in order to achieve the best results in pre-litigation and litigation proceedings.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
One of the lessons I have learned, and would advise my younger self to do, is to focus on the big picture. Being able to focus on the big picture of any dispute is the key to making a plan and working efficiently toward the most beneficial result for the client. Having this perspective also allows you to work smarter and adjust the strategy if necessary.
Can you give me a practical example of how you helped a client add value to the business?
We, as strategic lawyers, consider and analyze all of the issues in order to prevent or correct problems for clients. For example, for an internet services company, we planned and implemented strategic litigation in order to protect the company from creditors. As a result, the client maintained control of the business, which grew to be a major internet company.
Within your sector, what do you think will be the biggest challenge for clients over the next 12 months?
Due to the economic disruptions this year, we have been assisting clients in connection with commercial disputes and business rehabilitation. We also see an increase in class actions, as well as white collar crime.
