What three essential pieces of advice would you give to clients involved in <strong>your practice area<\/strong> matters?<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>When litigating a case in a foreign jurisdiction with the intention to pursue recognition and enforcement in the U.S., consider engaging U.S. counsel with expertise in foreign judgment enforcement early in the non-U.S. litigation. This can help to ensure that the foreign litigation is conducted in a manner most likely to lead to a judgment that can be recognized and enforced in the U.S.<\/li>\n<li>Move quickly to recognize a foreign judgment in order to preserve a debtor\u2019s assets and avoid limitations-period issues.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and investigate a potential judgment debtor\u2019s assets as early as possible, even before obtaining a judgment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>3. What are the greatest threats and opportunities in <strong>your practice area<\/strong> law in the next 12 months?<\/h4>\n<p>Judgment debtors are increasingly sophisticated about structuring assets across jurisdictions, entities, trusts, and digital accounts. Cross-border enforcement can become especially difficult where assets are held through layers of affiliated entities, or are moved after judgment. In some circumstances, sophisticated tools are now available, including AI-based tools, to make asset tracing more efficient.\u00a0 Counsel may be able to use technology to analyze corporate records, property records, financial information, litigation histories, and large discovery productions to identify relationships and suspicious transfers.<\/p>\n<h4>4. How do you ensure high client satisfaction levels are maintained by your practice?<\/h4>\n<p>We ensure high client satisfaction by combining legal excellence with proactive communication and a focus on achieving the client\u2019s ultimate objective\u2014maximizing recovery. What technological advancements are reshaping your <strong>practice area law<\/strong> and how can clients benefit from them?<\/h4>\n<p>Like all legal practice areas, the development of AI can be particularly useful in judgment-enforcement matters, where the biggest challenges often involve locating assets, organizing large amounts of financial information, and moving quickly. AI tools can review large amounts of data to identify potential assets and connections among judgment debtor and their affiliates, and can also assist in post-judgment discovery.<\/p>\n<h4>6.
