Although this encourages hard work whilst in the office, sometimes it is hard to build interpersonal relationships\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best moment?<\/strong> \u2018I got to do a legal analysis on a Letter of Claim which was AI generated. This included verifying whether the case law used was relevant\/real\u2019, \u2018working on a high-profile claim where responsibility and client contact was afforded\u2019, \u2018working on own matter from start to conclusion\u2019, \u2018a trip to Tunisia to conduct a client visit\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>Worst moment?<\/strong> \u2018Spending a lot of time on a bundle only to find out I had made it for a claim within a claim rather than the claim the matter needed referring to\u2019, \u2018lack of support in one seat\u2019, \u2018Juggling high case load with tight timescales\u2019<\/p>\n<\/p>\n                \n               \n      <h2 class=\"tab-listing\" id=\"verdict\">The Lex 100 verdict on <span class=\"highlight-firm\">Kennedys<\/span><\/h2>\n       \n        \n      \n             \n        <p>    \n\t<p>Kennedys draws trainees with its strong insurance focus and approachable culture. As one explained, \u201cKennedys specialises in the particular area of law that I wish to qualify into,\u201d while others joined after paralegalling and \u201creally enjoyed the nature of the work and the firm\u2019s culture, work-life balance and approachability\/friendliness of all who work here.\u201d The firm is praised for its \u201capproachable staff and senior fee earners; friendly culture; quality client secondment opportunities,\u201d with recruits also citing its \u201cgood reputation, good training, good benefits\u201d and \u201cvariety of seat options.\u201d Training is generally well regarded, though experiences can vary. One trainee summed it up as \u201cmuch better \u2013 good training opportunities, you are not just given admin tasks here, and supervisors\/partners are genuinely invested in your development.\u201d Another described the training as \u201cexcellent. I am aware that some friends at other firms are having difficulties.\u201d Others, however, describe it as \u201ca little less structured\u201d with \u201cpoor work allocation\u201d and felt that \u201cthe onus is on the trainee to train themselves\/get work.\u201d The trainee academy was praised but also seen as \u201cmaybe a bit outdated now.\u201d Work-life balance is a consistent theme: \u201cbetter work-life balance; more opportunities to meet\/interact with clients; flexible and autonomous working conditions; friendlier culture.\u201d The \u201cpeople\u201d are highlighted as the best thing about the firm, with one trainee appreciating \u201cthe amount of responsibility that is entrusted to you\u201d early on. On the flip side, pay is a recurring issue: \u201cremuneration average \u2013 took a pay cut to do Training Contract,\u201d while another observed \u201cit pays less than other firms of its size because all the clients are insurers which lowers charging rates.\u201d Other drawbacks include \u201cthe lack of training and lack of transparency\u201d and \u201cthe non-existent social opportunities.\u201d Memorable moments include \u201cworking on own matter from start to conclusion,\u201d \u201ca trip to Tunisia to conduct a client visit,\u201d and \u201cattending a mediation within my first six months and the senior colleague taking my advice in terms of strategy and response.\u201d Trainees also spoke of recognition, such as a \u201cGEM Award for excellence in First Seat,\u201d.\u201d Hybrid working is \u201cvery good\u201d and \u201cexcellent,\u201d usually allowing 2\u20133 days from home, though \u201cteam dependent\u201d and \u201cnot for trainees\u201d in some cases. Kennedys has a vibrant and supportive working environment and is looking for sociable and enthusiastic team players with commercial awareness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you\u2019ll do:<\/strong> Kennedys has both a two-year training contract and a 30-month graduate apprenticeship, which allows trainees to develop relevant experience and skills that set them up in their careers as an excellent solicitor.<\/p>\n<p>During the training contract, trainees will complete four six-month seats across Kennedys\u2019 core practice areas of insurance and reinsurance, liability, healthcare and commercial. Kennedys also offers exciting client and international secondment opportunities. In addition, trainees will be given the opportunity to attend in-house and external seminars, while having access to a large array of online training through Kennedys\u2019 internal learning management system.<\/p>\n<p>The 30 month\u202ftraining programme will involve working alongside our experienced lawyers in one of our legal teams, whilst studying with BPP one day per week.
