To see our Irish training contract profiles, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legal500.com\/future-lawyers\/roi_profiles\/addleshaw-goddard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The training and education of solicitors in Ireland is run by The Law Society of Ireland, Blackhall Place, Dublin.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify as a solicitor in the Republic of Ireland you will need to complete the following steps:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preliminary Examination (for non-Graduates)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have an undergraduate degree, you can take the preliminary examination, which is held once a year in March.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FE-1 Entrance Examination to Law Society of Ireland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduates need to sit and pass FE-1 (Final Examination Part 1). The exam can be taken in sprint or autumn and consists of eight papers covering the following core legal subjects:<\/p>\n<p>1. Company Law<\/p>\n<p>2. Constitutional Law<\/p>\n<p>3. Law of Contract<\/p>\n<p>4. Criminal Law<\/p>\n<p>5. European Union Law<\/p>\n<p>6. Equity<\/p>\n<p>7. Law of Property<\/p>\n<p>8. Law of Tort<\/p>\n<p><strong>Find a training contract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find a training contract with an eligible solicitor.\u00a0 You cannot go on to study the Professional Practice Course until you have completed this step.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professional Practice Course<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start the Professional Practice Course\u00a0 . These courses usually run from September to April and can be studied in Dublin or Cork.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In-Office Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start your training contract.
