Career

Nora was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2018 and joined 9 Stone Buildings in October 2019 on successful completion of her pupillage in chambers.

She has a broad commercial and chancery practice and accepts instructions in all core areas of chambers’ practice.

During her studies, Nora taught languages and worked as a translator for a German law firm. She can take instructions and advise in both English and German.

INSOLVENCY & COMPANY

Nora has worked on a wide range of insolvency and company matters. She has appeared as an advocate in winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions and annulment applications. She has drafted pleadings in disputes involving wrongful and fraudulent trading, transactions at an undervalue, and breaches of a company director’s fiduciary duties. Further, she has assisted with applications to set aside a statutory demand, applications for leave to continue proceedings against a company in administration, directors’ disqualification proceedings, and applications for a private examination.

COMMERCIAL

Nora regularly appears as a sole advocate in County Court trials on commercial and civil matters (usually contractual disputes). She has also advised and drafted pleadings in a range of civil disputes. Further, she has appeared in various procedural applications, including applications for relief from sanctions, strikeout, and the setting aside of judgments. During pupillage, she assisted with applications for interim relief, including freezing injunctions, as well as committal applications for breach of such injunctions.

LAND & PROPERTY

Nora has worked on a variety of property matters. During pupillage, she assisted with trials in dilapidation claims, boundary disputes, and TOLATA disputes. She has appeared as an advocate in contested possession hearings and procedural applications in property disputes. She has been instructed on multiple occasions to draft pleadings in landlord and tenant cases. Further, she has obtained some experience in the area of village greens and public rights of way.

WILLS & PROBATE

During pupillage, Nora assisted with various contested probate disputes, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and challenges to the validity of wills. She has been involved in mediations where such claims were settled. She also has experience with approval hearings following such settlements on behalf of children and protected parties.
