Career

 

Wide-ranging tax practice covering both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Recent work includes advice on complex domestic and international trusts issues; corporate, LLP and partnership structures; the taxation of non-UK domiciliaries; the taxation of charities and philanthropic donations; and the interaction of public law and tax.

Recent litigation includes significant cases in tribunals and higher courts; judicial review applications; rescission and rectification claims to remedy tax mistakes; and trust variations (including confidentiality and reporting restrictions for HNW clients). 

In addition, Oliver has regular experience as tax counsel in divorces, inheritance disputes and trust/charity proceedings.
