Prosecutes and defends fraud and serious crime, and practises across a range of regulatory areas, particularly police misconduct and related proceedings. He frequently appears for the prosecution and defence in trials concerning serious sexual offending. Recent instructions for the prosecution include the historic rape of a widow in her own home by a masked armed man and an Albanian heroin smuggling case, and for the defence murder, armed robbery, fraud and money laundering. In the police field he is currently instructed on behalf of officers from two forces in high profile inquest proceedings. Represents police officers from forces nationwide in performance and misconduct proceedings, criminal trials and inquests, and also represents police forces in relation to inquests. Other specializations include the full range of Licensing work for applicants, appellants, local authorities and police; advising Police forces and regulatory authorities across a range of regulatory and criminal areas; advising in matters arising from the Gambling Act 2005; appearing on behalf of casinos in applications for freezing injunctions in the High Court; appearing in judicial review claims on behalf of claimant, defendant, and interested parties.
