A criminal barrister with expertise in regulatory crime and licensing. Crime: prosecution and defence work in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal. Expertise includes attempted murder, serious violent offences, high value robberies, firearms offences, child cruelty, internet pornography, dishonesty matters fraud and money laundering. Instructed in a number of cases involving large scale conspiracies to import and supply drugs. Considerable experience of confiscation hearings. Regularly instructed to both prosecute and defend rape cases and trials involving other sexual offences. Experienced in questioning young and vulnerable witnesses. Regulatory crime; environmental cases; health and safety cases; Fire Authority prosecutions. Licensing: regularly instructed to represent applicants and objectors before licensing committees, and on appeal, for premises licences (involving the sale of liquor, music, dancing and entertainment) and betting office licences. Considerable experience in hackney carriage and private hire vehicle licensing cases.
