Alessia is a family law barrister who is regularly instructed to represent parents, children, grandparents, and other joined parties, in a range of public and private law children proceedings before every level of judiciary, up to and including the High Court. She is also experienced with non-molestation order and occupation order applications under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1996.

Through her cases, past employment, and pro bono opportunities, Alessia has gained considerable experience working with vulnerable clients from all backgrounds, including clients with learning difficulties, those with a terminal illness, former and current prisoners, survivors of domestic violence, clients with alcohol and drug issues, at-risk youths, and teenage gang members.

Alessia has been described by solicitors, judges, and colleagues as “articulate”, “not afraid to roll her sleeves up”, “calm, confident, and easy to get along with”, “provides excellent client care”, and “exceptional, showing maturity and experience beyond her year of call”.  She presents cases “concisely, persuasively and with force…She rose to the challenge with the utmost professionalism…”

By way of background, Alessia spent several years working in corporate and non-profit sectors before becoming a barrister.  During her legal studies, she undertook pro bono work for the Innocence Project and the National Centre for Domestic Violence.  Prior to joining the family bar, Alessia spent two years as a paralegal at Miles and Partners LLP specialising in care proceedings.  During this time, she represented parents, children, and joined parties, in addition to managing the large caseload of one of the senior partners of the firm, which included cases of non-accidental injury, child trafficking, and neglect.

She joined One Pump Court following the successful completion of her pupillage at Coram Chambers.
