He defended as junior counsel in a series of cases arising from a major investigation of historic sexual and physical abuse in children’s homes in South Wales. Owen also has experience in a wide range of cases prosecuted by local authorities and government departments.

Notable recent cases include Owen Williams representing a man who was acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter after a drug-related stabbing in Cardiff; the co-defendant was convicted of murder. For the RSPCA, he also prosecuted a man who entered a guilty plea to Sexual Offences Act and Animal Welfare Act offences after engaging in sex acts with his two male Bedlington Terriers; the defendant was given a suspended prison sentence plus a ten-year ban from owning animals.
