Claire practises exclusively in private family and family related work. Her practice is largely split between private children work and financial remedy claims on divorce. In private law children, she is especially experienced in dealing with difficult contested child arrangement disputes and is often instructed to appear against Queen’s Counsel – in relation to shared care arrangements/ intractable contact disputes /leave to remove applications and in cases of particular difficulty – where the child has been joined or in disputes arising in modern families (LGBT and transgender).

In financial remedy work, she is often instructed where there are complex business interests and difficulties with disclosure; she also deals with Schedule 1 claims, child support, cohabitation disputes and inheritance act claims.

Her reported cases are: McCann v Wright [1995] 2 FLR 579, CA; Re D (Residence: Imposition of Conditions) [1996] 2 FLR 281, CA; S v P (Contact Application: Family Assistance Order) [1997] 2 FLR 277; Re M (Interim Contact: Domestic Violence) [2000] 2 FLR 377, CA and Re M (a child) [2017] EWCA Civ 2356.

Claire is a dual qualified Arbitrator in both fields of Family Finance and Children and can offer composite adjudications where all issues arising on separation are dealt with in one hearing.
