Sharon specialises exclusively in cases involving children whether in the private law field or in public law proceedings. Within the public law arena, she is consistently instructed in High Court cases, whether acting for the local authority, parents or guardian and has undertaken a range of cases involving vulnerable clients, abuse/neglect, NAI with complex medical issues; and, recently exceptional cases involving honour violence, wardship and radicalisation often involving consideration of ‘closed evidence sessions’. Within the private law field, she has extensive experience of child arrangement disputes, and is regularly instructed in intractable contact cases, leave to remove applications as well as having significant experience being instructed on behalf of the child in rule 16 cases. Sharon frequently represents high profile clients, often from the sports/entertainment industries with widespread media attention and multi jurisdictional elements including international surrogacy. She is instructed as a junior to, and appears against, Leading Counsel in a number of cases each year and her workload sees her regularly appearing in the High Court, as well as appearances in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Notable cases in recent years include: A Local Authority v A, B, C, D and E (Permission to Withdraw: Costs) EWHC 1841 (Fam), Williams and another (Appellants) v London Borough of Hackney (Respondent) UKSC 37 , Re P-S EWCA Civ 1407, Re R (Closed Material Procedure: Special Advocates: Funding) EWHC 1793 (Fam) and Re J (Children) EWCA Civ 398
