Position

Senior Chancery Commercial Silk with a very wide-ranging civil fraud, company, professional negligence, financial services and contentious trust litigation practice. Equally at home in the UK courts and abroad (including Malaysia, advising for Hong Kong clients and legal professionals), just as he is in arbitral proceedings (whether LCIA, ICC or ad hoc).  Some recent cases include three separate claims (all favourably settled) arising from multi-million pound hotel acquisition against banking syndicate (inappropriate swap) and city solicitors (professional negligence),  acting as the Russian Federation’s trust expert in the Hague in relation to the control of a dozen or more complex offshore trusts with substantial holdings in proceedings under the UN Energy Charter Treaty, advising in relation to complex Hong Kong, BVI and Jersey trust dispute (favourably settled), currently acting for convened party in Jersey  on trustee’s contentious application for ‘blessing’  of complex order, advising in relation to interpretation issues arising out of complex promotion and development contract entered into between vendor of land and developer, currently also acting for appellant claiming a beneficial interest in a residuary estate on appeal to the Court of Appeal in hostile litigation arising from the use of a Liechtenstein Foundation by a deceased businessman to hold assets, currently also briefed for claimant shareholder and partner in conjoined multi-company and partnership proceedings fixed for lengthy trial in October 2017.
