Position

Charles Samek QC

is a renowned Silk specializing in the fields of commercial dispute resolution and civil fraud, with particular expertise in worldwide freezing injunctions, asset protection and tracing relief and search orders. He has acted in much of the leading litigation concerned with those issues including the Dadourian, Ablyazov / Khrapunov, Pugachev and Maksimov litigation. In addition to appearing in the Court of Appeal over twenty-five times, he also appeared in the Supreme Court in one of the leading cases on conspiracy and conflict of laws (JSC BTA Bank v Khrapunov [2018] UKSC 19). He has also been in leading cases concerned with private international law disputes where the jurisdiction of the English Court is advanced or challenged (eg.
