Position

Jonathan Cohen took silk in 2016 at just 38 years of age. He has a crossover commercial dispute resolution and employment law practice almost exclusively consisting of heavyweight High Court litigation, often involving financial services and claims of dishonesty or fraud. He is frequently instructed in Russian work; he acted for Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation in their high-profile action against a former director for breach of fiduciary duty and in the Court of Appeal for Optaglio, a technology venture owned by a wealthy Russian investor. He is presently instructed for DAS, one of the world’s leading insurers in a substantial fraud claim against former directors and for the De-Pury family in a very high-profile claim for commission on the sale of the most expensive painting ever sold on the private art market. His commercial practice has a particular focus on interim and injunctive relief proceedings. He also has a wide experience of heavyweight statutory employment law litigation.
