Position

Ranked as a rising star (tier 1) in employment law (The Legal 500), Joe is a specialist in employment, sports and commercial litigation. He represents clients in employment tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal, the civil and appellate courts, and in sports and commercial arbitrations.

He acted (led by David Reade QC) in Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive t/a Nexus v Anderson [2019] ICR 433, which is now the leading authority on the jurisdiction of employment tribunals in statutory wages claims.

Joe sits as a Chair of the Football Association’s National Serious Case Panel, adjudicating on all types of serious disciplinary cases in grassroots football.

Before his career at the Bar, Joe gained undergraduate and master’s degrees in Modern Languages and worked in both France and Germany. He was ranked in the top three students in his law conversion course cohort and went on to be graded Outstanding in his Bar exams.
