Position

Acts exclusively in privately funded cases of serious crime, fraud and professional discipline. Clients include high-net-worth individuals, public figures, professionals and corporate clients. Frequently instructed to advise prior to any charges, including challenges to the legality of an investigation or restraint of assets, as well as in court proceedings at every level. Also advises high net worth and corporate victims of crime on their rights and, where appropriate, drafting formal complaints to the prosecution authorities and advising on private prosecutions. Notable recent cases include R v John Terry (successful defence of Chelsea football captain on race abuse charges), Z v Z (advising investment banker in respect of allegations of multi-billion Euro fraud against a European bank), R v KO (successful defence of high net worth American client on charge of rape in London), X v X LTD (advising international corporation with high profile brands on investigation for serious regulatory breaches), R v Seddon (successful appeal against conviction in leading authority on permitted scope of prosecution after extradition). Currently also acting in the Hillsborough Inquests and in several major prosecutions for fraud against financial institutions.

Career

Trained 211 Deansgate Chambers; called to the Bar 1993 and in practice continually since that time. Member of Lincoln House Chambers (Manchester) and 25 Bedford Row (London). Also retained as Senior Counsel to Grosvenor Law LLP (London). Appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2013.
