Position

Cressida’s practice encompasses the full range of Chambers’ key specialisms, acting for Claimants, Defendants and all interested parties in Coronial proceedings.

Cressida has a keen interest in disease litigation and completed a six-month industrial disease secondment at Royds Withy King. She acts for Claimants (and their families) suffering from Diffuse Pleural Thickening, asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma. She is well versed in limitation arguments and complex issues of causation. As second Junior in Mather v MOD she helped obtain a multi-million settlement for a former RAF painter & finisher who developed MS following exposure to organic solvents.

She has a busy cross-border practice and has dealt with complex issues arising out of Brexit, successfully acting as Junior Counsel for the Second Defendant in Covea Insurance Plc v Greenaway [2021] 3 WLUK 379. In domestic PI her focus is on equine and Animals Act claims.

Cressida is regularly instructed in multi-day inquests involving multiple expert jurisdictions. She successfully obtained a regulation 28 prevention of future death report in a case arising out of police treatment of head injuries and questioned exerts in pathology, neuropathology, and toxicology.

Cressida acts and advises in costs-only proceedings and is an effective advocate at CCMC hearings.

Prior to coming to the Bar Cressida worked at a top American investment bank. She is highly numerate and drafts living and fatal schedules of loss beyond her year of call.
