Joseph Barrett KC11KBW ‘He is tactically superb and a first-class advocate.’

11KBW is ‘justly recognised for its expertise in public procurement.’ Jason Coppel KC is ‘exceptional in his field‘ and is well known for representing claimants and contracting authorities in prominent procurement mandates. Recent work includes Joseph Barrett KC appearing before the High Court in high-profile damages claims arising from the Gambling Commission’s procurement and award of the licence to run the Fourth National Lottery Licence to Allwyn. The claims were brought by the IGT Group, a subcontractor of the previous incumbent operator, Camelot, on the grounds of alleged breach of duty by the Commission during the competition process; however the High Court dismissed the claims on the grounds that the IGT Group, as non-bidders in the competition, were unable to pursue claims under the CCR 2016.
