Anna has a broad commercial practice, with a particular emphasis on insurance and reinsurance, shipping and international trade. She has been instructed in a wide variety of complex and high value commercial disputes, and undertakes a broad range of advocacy and advisory work, both on her own and as a junior. Anna has achieved recent success before the Privy Council and the High Court in a series of high profile cases. She has also appeared in many international arbitrations (including LMAA, LCIA and ICC arbitrations). Much of Anna’s work over the last few years has involved insurance and reinsurance, and she has acquired extensive experience across a range of policy types, including D&O, management liability and trade credit. Recent reported cases include the decision of the Privy Council in Galantis (Respondent) v Alexiou and another (Appellants) (Bahamas)  1 WLR 3636, a case concerning the scope of the oppression remedy; Mamancochet Mining Ltd v Aegis Managing Agency Ltd (and others)  2 Lloyd’s Rep. 441, the first decision of the English Court addressing the impact of President Trump’s re-imposition of sanctions against Iran; and Aircraft Purchase Fleet Limited v Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A.  EWHC 3315 (Comm), a High Court claim arising out of a contract for the lease of aircraft to the former operator of the Alitalia airline.
