Ailsa became a Member of Chambers in October 2019 following the successful completion of her pupillage. She was admitted to the legal profession in Queensland on 2 February 2015 and spent that year as Associate to the Hon. Justice Roslyn G. Atkinson AO of the Supreme Court of Queensland.  During 2016, Ailsa interned with the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute and subsequently the defence team for General Ratko Mladic at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.  At the same time, she studied for and then undertook the Bar Transfer Test.  She then spent a year as a paralegal with Griffiths & Partners Attorneys, a reputable litigation firm in the Turks and Caicos Islands, before returning to the UK.  In 2015, Ailsa won the Australian Academy of Law’s inaugural essay prize and has since authored several articles, as well as publishing research papers with London’s White Collar Crime Centre in 2017. Ailsa is currently the Judicial Assistant to Lord Reed at the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
