Kate is a highly regarded criminal advocate with experience in all areas of serious crime including murder, armed robbery, drug trafficking, violence, rape and other sexual offences, fraud and conspiracy to defraud. Her engaging manner makes her an effective advocate and popular with clients. She is known for her strong intellect and ability to handle complex cases. In recent years Kate has been involved in several high-profile cases. These include the Heathrow armed robbery which resulted in the first ever trial by a judge alone; R v Inglisin in which a mother was convicted of murdering her son by a lethal heroin injection in a mercy killing; the trial of a well-known actor tried for alleged sexual assaults on a young girl and possessing indecent images of children; and R v El-Wahabi and Masaad in which two women were convicted of funding terrorism. Kate is also experienced in sensitive issues of disclosure, publicly funded work, and regularly acts for private clients including conducting confiscation hearings in complex cases of fraud.

She has been appointed by the Attorney General as a Treasury Counsel Monitoree and as Junior Counsel to the Attorney General’s Panel of Prosecuting Advocates.
