Position
Ronan is Head of Chambers at Fourteen. He is a specialist in public and private law children proceedings with extensive experience in the more complex areas of these fields. Ronan represents parents, children, family members, Children’s Guardians and local authorities. He is usually instructed in matters involving highly complicated expert and factual evidence – including inflicted injury or death of a child, sexual and physical abuse, mental illness and substance misuse – or complex issues of law – including cases with an international element. He has particular expertise in the area of drug testing, having represented Lextox in the leading case of H (A Child – Hair Strand Testing) [2017] EWFC 64. Ronan has a special interest in cases involving deprivation of liberty and the crossover between the Family Court and Court of Protection. In addition to his practice as a barrister, Ronan sits as a Recorder.
