An experienced barrister instructed in a wide range of serious and complex cases. Her practice involves cases including homicide, gang-related and other serious violence, sexual offences, drugs supply and organized crime.
She has over 15 years’ experience conducting trials (both alone and as part of a wider legal team) and particular expertise dealing with vulnerable witnesses. She is an accredited facilitator involved in training other barristers in this field.
In addition to general crime, she has experience in other areas. This includes inquest hearings and being part of the counsel team for one of the key participants to the “Undercover Policing Inquiry” (investigating and reporting on undercover police operations in England and Wales since 1968).

Prior to her career as a criminal defence barrister, Monica lectured on the subject of public international law. She is a regular speaker at lawyer’s conferences and in-house seminars as well as the author of several articles for leading criminal law publications.
