William Day

Position
William Day is a versatile advocate with a busy practice spanning all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration. He has particular experience in commercial fraud cases, banking and finance disputes, and company law and insolvency matters. He has also acted on a number of cases raising difficult jurisdiction and choice of law issues.
William is frequently instructed in high-profile and complex litigation, including the £1.3bn Eclipse litigation against HSBC; the Stonegate Pub Company £850m Covid-19 business interruption insurance claim; the $80m Petroleos de Venezuela US sanctions litigation; the £150m Jaeger claim against Lloyds Bank; and Brake v Chedington, long-running insolvency litigation to be heard by the Supreme Court in 2022.
