Career

Emma was Called to the Bar and joined Furnival Chambers in 2011. She is a busy junior with a criminal and a civil regulatory practice.

Her areas of expertise include serious crime, fraud, confiscation, asset forfeiture, regulation and discipline.

Known for having a defence practice beyond her level of call, in the past year Emma has appeared as junior alone for defendants charged with arson with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, conspiracy to rob, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, high-value revenue fraud, rape and a gangland stabbing. As a led junior she has appeared for defendants charged with multi-million-pound money laundering offences, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and those facing complex confiscation proceedings.

Emma has experience conducting trials with the use of intermediaries and involving vulnerable persons.

She frequently appears for the prosecution at trial (CPS Panel - Grade 2). She has ongoing instructions as disclosure and LPP review counsel from the Serious Fraud Office.

Emma accepts instructions to appear before all professional regulators including the Nursing & Midwifery Council and the Heath and Care Professions Council.

Emma accepts Public Access work.

She specialises in complex road traffic matters.
