Position

Practice encompasses town and country planning, infrastructure, highways, compulsory purchase, land and property, on behalf of private, corporate and public sector clients, including by direct access and across a wide variety of sectors including large-scale housing and urban expansion proposals, universities, manufacturing, research and distribution, leisure and hotels, tall buildings, theme parks and visitor attractions, ‘one off’ developments and programmes of development (including budget hotels, branded restaurants and corporate rebranding exercises), airports and airport-related development, railways, energy generation and transmission, sports stadia and listed buildings and enabling development. Types of work include development management, environmental assessment, the preparation of neighbourhood and local plans, development orders, enforcement, public rights of way proceedings, wayleave proceedings, controls affecting listed buildings and other heritage assets, advertisement control, alternative consents regimes (e.g. for nationally significant infrastructure and under the Transport and Works Act and Electricity Act), Assets of Community Value, compensation, land registration, landlord and tenant, restrictive covenants, easements and boundary disputes.

Career

Chartered Surveyor and Planning Consultant for over 25 years before being called to the Bar in 2013.
