Position

Jonathan is an experienced criminal and regulatory practitioner, with a particular emphasis on serious and complex fraud.

He deals with all areas of fraud in areas such as: direct tax fraud (corporation and income tax); VAT repayment fraud (MTIC / input tax frauds including mobile phone, platinum and zero rated goods); VAT evasion (cigarettes); investment frauds; benefit fraud; confiscation, asset recovery and money laundering; regulatory offences (including those brought by VOSA and DEFRA).

He also deals with other forms of heavyweight crimes including homicide, serious violence, child neglect, drugs conspiracies and licensing.

Jonathan also prosecutes and defends in regulatory cases and he is included on the List of Special Regulatory Counsel (formerly the Attorney General’s list) at Category C. He prosecutes on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills. He has defended in prosecutions brought by the Environment Agency, DEFRA and VOSA.  Mr Rogers is also on the Specialist Fraud Panel List (Category 3) for prosecuting serious fraud offences.
