Barrister specialising in the resolution of construction, engineering and process engineering disputes by litigation, arbitration, adjudication, alternative dispute resolution and expert determination. Also acts in professional negligence, property and general commercial litigation and dispute resolution, and provides advice on non-contentious matters, in particular in relation to construction, engineering and process engineering projects. Arbitration and adjudication disputes make up a significant part of his practice.  Has sat as adjudicator, arbitrator and legal adviser in arbitration, and acted as mediator.  Clients have included international employers, developers, consultants, major, medium and small contractors and specialist sub-contractors, individuals and insurers. Before becoming a lawyer worked for many years in the construction, engineering and process engineering industries as a quantity surveyor, cost engineer and project manager with responsibility for a wide variety of projects throughout the UK, Ireland and in USA.   Is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), Chartered Builder (MCIOB) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).    Recent reported cases: RMC Building and Civil Engineering Ltd. v UK Construction [2016] EWHC 241 (TCC); Linnett v Halliwells LLP [2009] EWHC 319 (TCC).  Recent unreported cases include S68 and 69 appeal in TCC against arbitrator’s award; consolidated proceedings in TCC relating to lease obligations, rent claims, loss of profit, loss and expense, and liability for delays and disruption; a TCC claim (ultimately settled in mediation) arising from specialist environmental testing works carried out using a floating rig; a High Court case relating to development and operation of a website; sundry adjudication enforcement proceedings.    


Qualified as solicitor 1997; solicitor advocate 2004; Transferred to Bar 2013 (Grays Inn).
