Bobby’s practice embraces all areas of civil, public and employment law relevant to policing and he acts on behalf of constabularies across the country.
Robert has considerable trial experience as well as particular expertise and interest in police data retention and processing, human rights issues, and misfeasance and false imprisonment claims. Robert also undertakes public advisory work and assisted the Home Office in drafting the new guidance on police misconduct.
Bobby’s recent cases include: an appeal against a FOIA decision where the Metropolitan Police relied on national security exemptions, judicial reviews into the retention of information by the police and the policies of the NPCC, a jury trial for the Metropolitan Police in a claim for false imprisonment, claims for prisoner-on-prisoner assaults, an appeal in the EAT in a claim for unlawful dismissal and discrimination, and junior counsel for Surrey Police in an inquest arising out of a double homicide.
Bobby was appointed to the Attorney General’s C Panel of Counsel in February 2017.
