Position

Amy acts on behalf of constabularies across the country in cases involving all areas of police law. Amy has particular expertise and interest in claims under articles 2, 3, 5 and 8 ECHR, misfeasance and false imprisonment claims, and Inquests and Inquiries.

Notable and recent cases include: The Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry (on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service), The Inquests into the London Bridge and Borough Market Terror Attack, (on behalf of British Transport Police), the litigation arising from Operation Midland (on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service), the litigation arising from the “Plebgate” incident, (on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service), Kawa v Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, (challenge to a caution for arising from and allegation of child cruelty), Meyrick v Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police, (false imprisonment and breach of Article 2 claim brought on behalf of a vulnerable adult with sever learning difficulties), Bashiri v Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis and the Secretary of State for the Home Department, (claim for false imprisonment, malicious prosecution and breaches of Artcile 2, 3 and 8 of the ECHR).
