Within: Intellectual property

The ‘quality heavyweight IP and technology set’, One Essex Court boasts a ‘good range of IP and commercial barristers’. Members have acted in complex patent litigation, such as Geoffrey Hobbs QC’s instructions in Warner-Lambert v Sandoz & others and Biogen & others v AbbVie, both before the Court of Appeal. Hobbs was also instructed alongside Philip Roberts QC in an appeal challenging the judicial review to plain packaging regulations for tobacco products; the appeal by two tobacco companies involved arguments concerning the regulation’s incompatibility with European legislation and international treaties governing trade marks and designs.
