Called to the Bar, March 1971; QC 1989; practised as a Commercial and Chancery QC at One Essex Court from 1991 – 2004; (part time) member of the Courts of Appeal of Jersey and Guernsey, 1993 – 2004; High Court Judge, Queen’s Bench Division 2004-2013; first woman to be appointed a judge of the Commercial Court; Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court 2010-2012; Court of Appeal Justice 2013-2018; Vice-President of the Court of Appeal, Civil Division, 2016-2018; international commercial arbitrator, 2018 – date; Judge of the Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts (2018-date) and a Justice of the Court of Appeal of Bermuda (2018-date) (both part time appointments).
