Jessica regularly advises on and acts in property disputes including claims in respect of the enforceability of charges, constructive trusts, proprietary estoppel, easements, restrictive covenants, boundary disputes and landlord and tenant law. She recently appeared as sole counsel in the Court of Appeal in a claim concerning an easement of support and has acted as junior counsel in a high-value proprietary estoppel claim. Jessica is frequently instructed in bankruptcy and winding up petitions and in a wide variety of related applications. Her recent work in the High Court includes and urgent application for the rescission of a winding up order and an application for an administration order. Jessica’s practice includes all aspects of commercial litigation, applications, construction of contracts, sale of goods, partnership and guarantees. She advises and drafts pleadings in high-value contractual claims and acts for companies in contractual disputes in the county courts. She has a particular interest in partnership law and is currently instructed as junior counsel in a complex farming partnership dispute. Jessica undertook pupillage at 5 Stone Buildings, a top-tier traditional chancery set, and is rapidly developing her traditional chancery practice. She regularly advises on and acts in contentious trusts probate matters, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. and advises in relation to inheritance and capital gains tax. She was recently instructed in a High Court trial concerning an administrator’s claim for occupation rent.
