Jo’s practice mainly comprises of crime, military justice and public law including the law of armed conflict. She is experienced in homicide, non-fatal offences of violence, sexual offence, firearms and fraud. Jo accepts instructions from both the prosecution and the defence. She was recently leading counsel in a multi-handed drugs case.

Jo is part of the military courts-martial team in Chambers.  She has been an RAF reservist for six years but has recently transferred to the Army’s 77th Brigade where she advises upon the law of armed conflict. Her military background gives her an advantage over others when defending servicemen.  She accepts instructions both from the SPA and the AFLAA.

A grade three CPS prosecutor, Jo receives regular instructions from CPS.  She is also a Bar Standards Board prosecutor, a probation prosecutor and on the SFO panel.

Jo has been admitted to the list of Specialist Counsel and the list of Victims Representatives of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
