Great James Street Chambers > Set Profile
Great James Street Chambers is a modern and specialist set, renowned for expertise in crime, extradition, immigration, family, regulatory, civil and public law.
Great James Street Chambers’ reputation for excellence at the Bar is founded on the strength, at all levels, of individual members. Great James Street Chambers has swiftly become prominent in a crowded market, successfully establishing itself as a leader in niche areas of law such as extradition and warrants.
Chambers was founded by Alun Jones KC and was originally located at 37 Great James Street. In 2020, we embarked on a new venture, embracing the changes facing the legal profession post Covid-19, becoming one of a few virtual sets.
Our members provide specialist advisory and advocacy services in extradition, crime, family, public law, search warrants and production orders, restraint orders and asset confiscation orders, immigration, regulatory, civil and arbitration/mediation.
We have numerous members who are dual qualified. In addition to being called to the UK Bar, we have members called to the Bars in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Cameroon, Australia and St. Vincent and Grenada.
Our members are instructed on behalf of clients before courts around the world, along with members who have acted as counsel in arbitrations and mediations in London and overseas.
Our clerking team, led by senior clerk, Zoe McCauley, has a wide range of experience in areas of chambers’ specialisms and have been acknowledged as being flexible in their approach and provide a first class service.

Great James Street Chambers is committed to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion within Chambers and more generally at the Bar. We aim to provide a working environment and culture which values and recognises difference and tackles discrimination pro-actively in order to ensure that no individual or group is discriminated against. No person will at any time be treated less favourably on grounds of sex, age, marital status, religion, colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin, disability, sexual orientation, background or political persuasion. We respect and understand the cultural needs of its diverse client base, and are committed to achieving and promoting equality and diversity in the provision of services, recruitment and access to the Bar in general.
