Position

Caspar advises on contentious disputes and is a trial and appellate lawyer. His practice covers the whole width of the employment relationship, contractual (including injunctive relief) and regulatory sports’ disputes and other linked contractual and commercial claims including civil fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. His work generally affects hundreds/thousands of employees, sets national precedents, are test cases, are of very high value, seriously affect the reputations of other employees or owners or the business itself or are a combination of these. He appears in courts from the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal through to the Employment Tribunal, is a trained mediator, sits as a chairman of Football Association Arbitration Panels and is a past Chair of the Industrial Law Society. He is ranked in the Directories as a Leading Silk in his two primary fields of Employment and Sports’ law. Caspar acts for employers ranging from Premier League football clubs to small family businesses and employees ranging from FTSE 100 Board Directors to Gate Gourmet caterers. Caspar prosecutes and defends in disciplinary hearings and is experienced in sports’ arbitrations as an advocate, chairman and arbitrator. In personal injury Caspar Glyn has a special interest in injuries arising from the employment relationship such as psychiatric/stress claims or other occupational diseases caused by asbestos, ergonomics, work equipment and co-authors the personal injury pleadings in Bullen & Leake. He is invited to lecture widely in England, Wales and Scotland on subjects of special interest such as employment status, working time, whistleblowing and discrimination.

Co-author of personal injury section of Sweet and Maxwell ‘Fast Track Practice’, “Personal Injury Handbook”. Member of the working party that produced the ‘Code of Guidance for Experts’ under the CPR.
