Career

Carolyn joined the Cloisters’ Employment & Discrimination team in 2022. She specialises in employment and discrimination law, and handles associated regulation/professional discipline and data protection/information rights matters. She is highly reputed for her representation of senior executives in the field of financial services, including in their dealings with financial regulators (the FCA, PRA and FRC). She is currently acting for a prominent whistleblower, Sally Masterton, in the LBG HBoS Reading fraud non-statutory enquiry being conducted by Dame Linda Dobbs (2017-2022). She has also enjoyed success as sole or lead counsel in the Tribunal cases of Yang v. Credit Agricole (2022) and Banerjee v. Royal Bank of Canada (2018-2020).

Carolyn is an accredited mediator in New York state and the UK.  Carolyn was a Fulbright Scholar to Harvard Law School in 1995, and Treasury Counsel from 1999-2005.  After a 6 year career break, Carolyn returned to full-time practice in 2016.
