Position

Experienced in serious crime, particularly cases of fraud, drugs, violence (including murder, manslaughter and firearms), terrorism, confiscation proceedings and multi-handed cases. Have conducted appeals in the Court of Appeal and applications for Judicial Review. Notable cases include: conspiracy to supply and manufacture firearms – Wood Green Crown Court (March 2007); fraud – conspiracy to remove criminal property from England and Wales to Estonia and other foreign jurisdictions, largest credit card fraud in the United Kingdom to date (multi-jurisdictional) (April 2007); fraud and people trafficking – conspiracy to do acts facilitating the commission of breaches of the immigration law of the United States of America and conspiracy to do acts facilitating the commission of breaches of the immigration law by individuals who are not citizens of the European Union, conspiracy to defraud (eight handed) – Leicester Crown Court (May 2007); junior in conspiracy to rob (20 handed split into two trials) – Kingston Crown Court (June/July 2007); terrorism case: assisting an offender (21st July 2005 tube and bus bombers) – Kingston Crown Court (October 2007/08); murder, Central Criminal Court (February 2008); Regina v Abdurahman – Court of Appeal – sentencing for concealing terrorist information; £10m drugs importation case (six handed) (February 2009).
