Position

Douglas specialises in criminal defence and prosecution and appears regularly in the Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court, and Youth Court.

Douglas provides clients with considered, focused advice and is a calm and tenacious advocate in court.

Douglas has experience prosecuting and defending a wide range of criminal offences including violence, drug offences, firearms, weapons, dishonesty, and road traffic offences. Further, Douglas has experience and interest in representing vulnerable adults and youths, and has undertaken the cross examination of vulnerable witnesses and complainants.

Additionally, Douglas is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple’s Education and Training Committee.

Douglas was called to the Bar in 2020 following completion of the BPTC, during which Douglas placed first in his cohort for advanced criminal litigation and ranked in the top 1% for all advocacy modules. Douglas has also gained experience at a leading criminal litigation practice known for representing high net worth and high-profile individuals, specialising in serious and general crime and fraud and financial crime.

Previously, Douglas was a professional musician, touring internationally for a major record label.
