Myriam took silk in 2021 following a highly successful practice as a senior junior encompassing all aspects of property litigation, related professional negligence, commercial and residential landlord and tenant and commercial chancery litigation. Has been consistently recognised in the leading UK Legal directories and is ranked as a Band 1 junior by Chambers & Partners since 2016 and has been nominated as “Real Estate Junior of the Year” in the 2020 Chambers Bar Awards.

She practices across all courts in England and Wales including CA, High Court, UT, County Court, FTT, arbitrations and expert determinations.

Frequently involved in high profile litigation. Recently instructed in a series of substantial High Court cases against KCs involving the law of easements including a trial involving the scope of s.62 of the LPA 1925, a high value dispute involving wide ranging and complex interlocking points of law in relation to a high profile expansion of “We Works” serviced offices, and a number of substantial rights of light disputes.

Well known for her experience of property estoppel, beneficial interest and constructive trust disputes, having represented parties in such cases at all levels of court, including in Cobbe v Yeoman’s Row Management Ltd [2008] UKHL 55; Porntip Stallion v Albert Stallion Holdings (Great Britain) Ltd [2009] EWHC 1950 and Henry v Henry [2010] 1 All E.R. 988. She is currently instructed in a complex and high value proprietary estoppel claim which is proceeding in the High Court.

Significant experience of cases involving the Electronic Communications Code (old and new) and was most recently instructed in the Court of Appeal case of Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd v Compton Beauchamp Estate Ltd [2019] EWCA Civ 1755. In 2018 she was instructed in PG Lewins Ltd v H3G UK Ltd [2018] 3 WLUK 233 which established an important point of principle regarding the inter-relation between code rights ‘trumped’ contractual agreements.

Extensive experience of civil trespass cases and urgent injunctions and is well versed in the complex procedural and legal issues which arise in relation to claims brought against ‘persons unknown’. Examples of cases include seeking pre-emptive applications for injunctions and possession against defendants and persons unknown in connection with protests and encampments private and public, including public squares, university campuses and highways. Myriam’s protest cases include: the Occupy and Extinction Rebellion movements; protests against developers’ “Rich Doors” and “Poor Doors”, anti-fracking protests (including Dutton v Persons Unknown), campaigns to promote sustainable living and other protests by students and individuals against government policy). Represented the landowner in Hampson v Orchid Runnymede Ltd [2015] 9 WLUK 218 (possession and injunctive relief involving an eco-village established by the site of the Runnymede Magna Carta Memorial) and Imamia v Persons Unknown (protest against the proposed relocation of a mosque in North London).

She is valued for her technical ability, commercial approach, leadership skills and extensive experience as a trial advocate.

In addition to her litigation practice Myriam is often instructed to advise in relation to difficult points of law arising from transactional work and in relation to proposed developments.
