Indira is a barrister specialising in all aspects of children’s work, especially international child abduction, serious cases of child abuse, adoption, contact and residence disputes, applications to relocate a child out of jurisdiction. Her practice is almost exclusively in the High Court. Particular interest – experience in work concerning the Sub-Continent and Middle East. Cases include: Re J (abduction: child’s objections to return) [2004] 2 FLR 64 – acted for the child; Re H [2002] CA (awards of costs in children cases); Re S [2005] 2 FLR 94 – orders pursuant to s15 and Schedule 1 of the CA 1989 – jurisdiction where child resident abroad; Re JPC v SLW and SMW (abduction) [2007] 2 FLR 900; Re C (costs: enforcement of foreign contact order) [2008] 1 FLR 619; Re W (leave to remove) [2008] 2 FLR 1170 CA; P v G (Family Law Act 1986: jurisdiction) [2010] 2 FLR 1888 FD; R and another v A [2011] All ER (D) 136 (May), FD; MK v CK (relocation) (2012) CA.


Qualified 1980; Lincoln’s Inn. Began life as a common lawyer concentrating exclusively on family work since the mid-1990s.
