Simon has wide ranging experience in domestic courts, mediations and adjudications as well as domestic and international arbitrations conducted under various arbitral rules, including SIAC, HKIAC, ICC and UNCITRAL. His main areas of specialisation are construction and engineering, energy, and professional negligence.
Notable cases include: Acting for Government of Gibraltar in a claim related to the termination of a high-profile tunnel project under a FIDIC form of contract (OHL v Govt. of Gibraltar  EWHC 1028); SIAC arbitration concerning the termination of a contract for the purchase of a large residential, commercial and retail development in Vietnam; Representing a company forming part of the consortium delivering the Manchester Tram project (Transport for Greater Manchester v Thales  146 ConLR 194); Appeal to the Privy Council concerning the proper interpretation of certain statutory provisions (Presidential Insurance v St. Hill  UKPC 33); Representing a member of the FIFA Executive Committee in libel proceedings brought against a prominent politician (Makudi v Lord Triesman  3 All ER 36).
