Advocate, both prosecuting and defending. Grade 4 CPS prosecutor. Has extensive experience defending those with professional and managerial backgrounds who have been charged with criminal offences. Recent examples include a solicitor charged with mortgage fraud, a solicitor charged with theft from a client account and a chartered surveyor charged with ABH. He has also defended several farmers charged with contravening the BSE legislation. He was a member of the prosecution team instructed by RCPO in Operation Barlow in the case of R v Carlton and Others, an early diversion fraud. High profile cases include R v Tracie Andrews (road rage, murder of boyfriend).

Career

Called 1972; member of Western Circuit Chambers in London, prior to 1991; moved to Bristol 1991; now practises principally in the Crown Courts at Bristol, Exeter, Gloucester, Swindon and Taunton, but also practises further afield.
