Position

Simon specialises solely in employment law and was appointed to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Counsel in November 2012.

Simon provides advice and representation to a diverse array of clients, from individual employees through to national companies and public bodies such as the NHS and HSBC. He is a calm, clear and precise advocate whose questions are carefully constructed to get the best possible evidence from each witness. He adopts a friendly yet professional approach towards his clients.

In addition to the more classic functions of a barrister (providing advocacy and advisory services), Simon has been involved with mediations, attended as a representative at internal hearings, has conducted internal whistleblowing investigations and has acted as an independent chair for disciplinary hearings.

While Simon has a particular interest in whistle blowing and discrimination claims, he has experience in dealing with all areas of employment law appearing for both sides in tribunals nationwide.

He successfully appeared recently in the EAT for the respondent employer in Luvualu & Others v Zenith Contractors Limited & Others UKEAT/0154/14/DM.
