Joan is a Partner and Head of UK Capital Markets. Joan’s practice includes a diverse range of corporate areas such as company flotations and secondary issues on both AIM and NEX, advice on the Takeover Code, reverse takeovers, cross-border scheme of arrangements on AIM, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate advice. Joan has particular experience in advising UK and international companies in the natural resources sector.

Armstrong Teasdale acquired Kerman & Co in early 2021, which strengthened its ability to advise oil and gas clients on public and private M&A, debt and equity finance, commercial contracts and disputes. The team, which is jointly led by Peter Kohl and Joan Yu, also includes Coral Yu and Una Deretic. In addition, other key individuals are Anthony Kerman and Robert Paydon , who are sought after in international arbitration matters. Insolvency and restructuring head Imran Aslam recently joined from Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.
