John has over 20 years’ experience in advising biotech and pharma companies on their patent portfolios. He has helped companies develop broad patent protection aligned with commercial objectives and investment requirements. A particular specialty is in advising early-stage companies, helping them put in place procedures for managing growing patent portfolios and encouraging innovation.

John takes time to understand the business objectives of clients, bringing a commercial focus to the advice he gives. He appreciates the need to provide business leaders with clear recommendations, to help build a patent portfolio consistent with business need.

He manages worldwide filing programmes for clients and understands how tailored filing strategies can be designed to deliver the right outcome for the client.
