Ellie has experience in a wide range of patent work, with particular expertise in prosecuting patent applications before the EPO and the UK IPO as well as managing international portfolios. She often co-ordinates prosecution in multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Japan and China. Her practice also includes drafting new patent applications, and representing clients in opposition proceedings before the EPO. Ellie’s technical background is in Physics; she enjoys working on a broad range of subject-matter including optical fibers, semiconductor technology, X-ray analysis, consumer goods and medical devices.

Elkington + Fife LLP is particularly visible in EPO oppositions and appeal proceedings where the team continues to be exceptionally successful, especially in proceedings for pharma clients. The firm enjoys a very good reputation for its life sciences and pharmaceutical patent prosecution work, in particular as advisor to major generics companies and its strong biotechnology track record, but also offers a very experienced electronics practice that distinguishes itself through its original application drafting capabilities.
