Career

Graeme is the head of the Engineering and ICT practice group, and is a member of the Management Board. He has over 15 years’ experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the mobile telecoms, distributed computer systems and consumer goods spaces. He is also experienced in providing freedom to operate opinions, to help inform pragmatic commercial decision making.

Graeme and his team work closely with our clients to generate IP portfolios that provide a robust defence against competitors, and that establish an attractive offering for investors. He also has experience in crafting patents for admission into patent pools, including standard essential patents.

Education

Graeme qualified as a UK Charted Patent Attorney in 2006, a European Patent Attorney in 2008 and joined the partnership in 2010.

Graeme has a Master’s degree and PhD in applied physics from the University of Bath, with a focus on semiconductor devices, in particular terahertz technology. He also conducted postdoctoral research at l’Université de Paris-Sud XI, France and at the University of Bath. His postdoctoral research focussed on magnetic semiconductors, optoelectronic devices and display technologies.
